October 2016

Saturday 01- very windy.
yard

Sunday 02- windy again today but not as bad.
Last week I was helping out a friend pick up a generator on the west side of Border ave. We drove up to the house and there was lots of barking from behind the fence. The lady who lives there must have had 10 to 15 Siberian Huskies and all were friendly and wanted our attention. I stuck my closed hand in between the gate rails and was licked by everyone of them.
I took Kelly to WalMart, Home Depot, and I got gas at Arco.

Monday 03- kinda out of it for the next 3 days. All I remember is working in the yard on these days. What hit me was I almost called Sherry about something, maybe to go to the store or something and completely forgetting she has passed.

I worked in the yard throwing stuff in the dumpster. Sadly my swimming pool I bought two summers ago was trashed by the UV rays and the desert heat; that went into the dumpster too. I kinda burnt myself out working and took Cassie for an evening walk and just rested the rest of the day.

Friday 14- 90 to 62 degrees.
I did my stretches, yoga, and took Cassie for a one mile jog.
Continued to work in the yard. Lots to clean up.
Saturday 15- 89 to 60...
It was a very nice service Sherry's family put on for her. Meeting all these friends, family and her coworkers who knew her and loved her. Many stood up and spoke about her, even I, telling story after wonderful story of Sherry's life. I felt after I left the service that I finally had some closure. I'll always think about her, but in a better state of mind without sorrow; she was a magnificent person...
I put up a video on my FB page that Sherry's Niece made. If you haven't, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r32cIfI8Gqo
Warning: be prepared to cry when you watch the video.

Simi stopped by to pick up a book he lent me and we sat around yammering for a spell.
I have a long ways to go working in the yard all day.

Thursday 20- 85 to 62 degrees.
Post office to get my packages I ordered from FreedomPop, Staters to get supplies, then to the 99 cent store to pick up Kelly some Halloween treats. I left them on Kelly’s door because she, her dogs and cats and car were gone. Maybe she left for good.

Friday 21- 85 to 59.
I did my stretches, lifted lite weights, yoga, took Cassie for a one mile jog, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for three minutes.
Sami came by with some 6 glass bricks I wanted. As we were sitting there jawing there was a truck towing a water trailer coming up the road. All of a sudden the trailer’s axle came off with both tires still connected and rolled down the hill. The driver tried to tow the wheeless trailer to the side of the road, but the truck’s back tires started digging in and had to stop. Sami and me walked on down to the bottom of the hill to help the driver move the axle over to her trailer that she unhooked. She said she knew someone with a flatbed that will come out to move it later.
My Brother Kevin was released from the hospital and is home now resting.
Martie, Sherry’s sister, called tell to say she was bringing Barney down tomorrow. I told her I’ll be down there with bells on to take him to his new home with me and Cassie.
OnTrac was supposed to deliver a package today and like usual they didn’t... said it was the wrong address. I called Amazon and complained again. The rep called OnTrac who said it was too far for their driver to go. I told the rep that last time they said I turned down the package. The rep called OnTrac back and had them schedule a delivery for Monday.

Saturday 22- 91 to 62 degrees.
I got up and did my stretches and got Cassie in the truck for the ride to Sherry’s house in Yucca Valley to pick up her boyfriend Barney to live with us. As I drove with Cassie towards town I noticed that the water trailer the lady left behind was still there. I am thinking now it may be a traffic hazard and someone could plow into it in the night.

Sunday 23-
I woke up wondering what Barney liked to eat and was thinking about calling Sherry to ask her. Dang, I never thought things like this would happen to me. I must be getting senile.
I did my stretches, lifted lite weights, yoga, took Cassie and Barney for a one mile jog, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for three minutes. I was a little concerned that Barney wouldn’t keep up with us on our jog. If he couldn’t we’d all walk back to the house. Barney was out there sniffing the ground back and forth as we jogged; I guess that’s a hound dog’s nature. Seem to me he really liked getting out jogging and howling at nature.

Monday 24- rained most of the day with lots of lightning.
I did my stretches and took Cassie and Barney for a walk.
OnTrac finally dropped off my package just as it started to sprinkle a little
Started to rain and then a lightning storm came and knocked out the internet and cell phone service in our area. I had to look around for Barney who had decided to take cover under a desk inside the garage. I found him shivering and brought him inside to calm him down. Cassie was oblivious to the lightning and thunder. One struck so close I could swear it hit the house.

Tuesday 25- a little windy after the remainder of the storm finally passed through.
I did my stretches and took Cassie and Barney for a mile jog.
I called Mojavewifi to see when the internet would be up and I got a recording saying it might be down for folks and the are working with Edison and the power outage to get it all fixed. No problem, I’m getting a lot of work done on my books.

Wednesday 26- a nice sunny day.
I did my stretches, lifted lite weights, yoga, took Cassie and Barney for a one mile jog, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for three minutes.
My neighbor Stevie stopped by with her kinda sort of granddaughter; she’ll have to wait until Stevie’s grandson gives her a ring, and we were yapping about this and that and I asked about her internet. She said it has been up with no problem after the storm. I called Mojavewifi and Tina said they have a repair guy come out by 2pm tomorrow.
Well it's been over five days since that lady left her water trailer almost in the middle of the road. I got a little mad when I seen a few cars almost hit it and one car went off the road to avoid the trailer. In the evening when I walked the dogs I opened the tank and drained out about 250 gallons the lady said she had in it. Later when it was empty I cut the tie downs and rolled the water container off the trailer. Then I used the two long 4x4s that tank sat on to use as levers to pivot and tipped the trailer off the road. It was kinda heavier than I thought and kept slipping towards the burm as I lifted it. I finally get it to its tipping point and let it go. It fell off the road and not on me.

Thursday 27- 79 to 60 and sunny.
I did my stretches and walked the dogs.
I went into Yucca to get a blood test at the lab down there. I stopped in and they said it would be a two hour wait. So I filled up my truck and a five gallon of gas and went to WalMart to get a 5 gallon propane bottle and some supplies. I even stopped off at Staters Bros to get some chicken for me and the dogs.
Jeff and Robert from down the street came by and I asked them to help me get the little bit of the water trailer still sticking out off the road. They were more than happy to help.
Joe from Mojavewifi arrived to put in a new receiver that most of blown out during the lightning storm last monday. I am back online again!!! Yeah for me! I did get a lot of editing done on my book “Desolation” while internet was out.
My dear old friends Frank and Mary came by to tell me they were moving up here for good... I think that’s great! Now I’ll have someone up here to bug.

Friday 28- 87 to 62 with some very nice clouds.
I did my stretches, lifted lite weights, yoga, took Cassie and Barney for a one mile jog, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for three minutes.
Saturday 29-
I made two trips giving Mary and Chris a ride to Potluck; Best yet... ate too much!
Sunday 30-
Got sick stuffing my face yesterday and then today with potluck leftovers.

Monday 31-
Felt better mile jog with the dogs
Upgraded my Raspberry Pi 3b OS from Raspbian to Pixel... now I am having trouble with the date and time shows February 2016 no matter what Linux commands I try to change it. Went to online forums and other folks are having problem... looks to be wireless. I will try Ethernet connection tomorrow to see if that corrects it.
I took apart a broken Timex battery operated alarm clock. One of the leads came undone, but it is late and will have to wait until tomorrow (have to save my batteries charge for tonite)

From the very smallest quantum to the stars in all the galaxies in our universe we are connected. There are many levels to our existence. Every man, woman, child, dog, cat, bird, insect, tree, blade of grass, bacteria and virus; all living and the nonliving, the intrinsic quality of belonging in the moment are linked together, entangled .

***** Stuff I Wrote this Month******
There are some very nice folks out there in the world... finding them is kinda like buying a carton of eggs; you just have to sort through them all first and toss out the cracked ones ;)

I don’t mind helping people who are trying to help themselves, except for the ones trying to help themselves to my money.

Scientist say they found a Dyson Sphere: Nah...
Dyson Sphere; is the great stuff of  science fiction... you just never know what you’ll find out there in the universe. Think about this... the Earth is growing much more silent now that we are using less open broadcasts like AM radio and broadcast television. Everything is becoming more digital and compressed as the Earth grows silent. Someday the noise of Earth will just blink out and will no longer be heard in the vastness of space. So what should we be looking for when we seek out advanced civilizations?

The Truman Show (my thoughts)
The perpetuated lies defined Truman's reality as he knew it to be. As it is in our own realities we are being manipulated and fed through mass media and false belief systems.
I think most of us hide behind the convenient illusion of time instead of living in the moment.
