October 2013

Okay I know this journal has been very boring lately. It is because I am into edit mode and totally focused. My apologies :)

Tuesday 01- Temps still in the 90s
I did my stretches, yoga, lifted weights, ran a mile and a half with 1.5lbs around each wrists, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
I worked on the book...

Wednesday 02- nice day, temps in the mid 80s with a nice breeze.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran up and down the hill carrying 5lbs in each hand, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
FedEx delivered my HP LaserPro 1606DN Duplex printer.
Went to help Sherry hang her new TV set but the hanger from the old set didn’t work on the new one because of the connection came straight out and not off to the side like the old one. We still hung it on the wall until we get something better. Afterwards we went to the Sizzler for dinner and then to Walmart where she brought a hanger that would work that I’ll use next time I visit her.
When I go back home I worked on my book!

Thursday 03- cooling down temps in the low 80s.
I did my stretches.
I went for my evening walk and met a new neighbor called Billy.
Worked on the book.......
Remembered 15 minutes before it came on that “Elementary” is on TV tonight. It took me that long to figure where the channel was on this new TV I don’t watch that much.

Friday 04- cooler and windy!
I did my stretches, lifted weights, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
I hooked up the HP Laserjet 1606DN duplex printer.... WOW! I printed out book two in book form! That’s not good for editing I found out, but it is great for reading. I will print it out full letter size tomorrow. Continued to work on editing book 2.

Saturday 06-
I did my stretches.
I updated the Copper Mountain Mesa Website and sent out the Newsletter.
I printed book two out in letter size both front and back (duplex) and it is just perfect for editing. I prefer to read and edit from paper first and then make changes on the computer to the book. I continued to edit...

***** Stuff I Wrote this Week******

Sleep with dreams of dolphins sliding, down indigo waves of silken seas. Feel the spray of ocean's longing, against a love lost to me. Woven in threads of recollections, love and tenderness from the past. Seek those times of never yearning, may a true heart rest at last. Be gone the fears of all foreboding, for there she visits me in my dreams.

Yes, keeping the enthusiasm going gets harder as we grow older, but we still plug away at life. We still keep trying to make a difference, to find meaning to it all. We struggle, we fall, we learn to pick ourselves up and continue on with our life’s journey down an unforeseen road that some say goes here and others say goes there. But I choose to find my own way, make my own path, and should I fall, I fall on my own account and not on someone else's path I took.

Someday we will have a moneyless society and eliminate greed that causes this destruction of our world.
Oh it probably won't happen in our lifetimes Glee Berger, but the day will come when we all realize money is an illusion and greed is a sickness that can be treated. Once we change our thinking and believe it can happen, once we take the steps needed towards a moneyless society we will be far better off than what we are doing to the Earth now; destroying it bit by bit with no where else to go...

Just keep trying on them projects of yours. Even though you think you gotten bored or some event happened in your life that kept you from them and you had to moved on to something else doesn't mean you can't go back to finish them at some later period in your life. Just keep plugging away at them and eventually I git them done

When I was a child I had a few imaginary friends, and now that I'm all growed up I have many more that I love and care for.

I am not a very religious person, but I do believe we should have respect for other people's beliefs. I also believe that if I was religious, I would want to find out all I could about science to understand God better.

There's a steep hill that runs alongside my home here on the high desert. When I first moved to this beautiful desert community I could hardly run up a quarter of that hill before I’d have to stop to catch my breath. I kept at it and over the years it has become nothing for me to run to the top and back down. I also run a mile and a half a few times a week, where before I could only run a half mile, and now I can even do it in 109 degree weather.
So what I'm saying is; keep on doing whatever it is you have set your mind to do. It may seem like a pain and struggle right now at this moment, but at the end of the day the rewards and benefits are well worth it.

Our lives are filled with little bits of memories left behind here and there. Telephone numbers written without names on backs of matchbook covers so old that who it was is lost to us for eternity. Bits and pieces of our lives scattered around our homes and cars. Glove compartments, behind seat cushions, stashed inside books and bottoms of drawers are magnets for our little tatters of memories lost. Messages to ourselves, beginnings to poems, songs or stories, an old shopping list forgotten and left at home to gather together in small collections here and there across space and time to be rediscovered, pondered upon, collected and put off to the side to start the whole process over again. If not for these little scraps of paper, these messages to ourselves across the years concealed in hidey holes of our subconscious, we’d never know what’s been lost to us from ages ago. Little scraps of paper, memories of our lives.

Even more editing....

Tuesday 08- beautiful day!
I did my stretches.
Linda H. came by with spaghetti and split pea soup. I gave her back her mailbox key and all her mail I collected for her. Lots of hers in that last sentence!
I worked on editing book all day and into the night.

Wednesday 09- blowing dust and sand with lots of rain in the evening.
I did my stretches. It is way too windy with all kinds of debris aloft in the air and decided to just stay inside today.
I had some problems with my WIFI antenna for the internet. I climbed to the roof and fiddled with it until the little red LED light went out.
I worked on book all day long!
It started raining pretty hard around 9pm and then settled down to a sprinkle for nice soaking.

Thursday 10-  nice but cool day; seems like autumn has finally fell upon us.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran a mile and a half with 1.5lbs around each wrists, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
I edited my book some more.
I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells and went for my evening walk with my backpack. On my walk I met new neighbors Larry and Dohrain (scandinavian woman's name) who now live next to Pam.
I edited my book some more.
I did my stretches, lifted 20lb dumbbells, and went for a night run.
I edited my book some more.

Friday 11- a warmer and very nice day.
I did my stretches.
I drove Kelly down to the lower desert for her doctor’s appointment. We left at 1:15pm, stopped to get her cat’s food at the pet store near Vons in Yucca, arrived at the doc’s at 2:30 for a 2:45 appointment where we sat for over an hour waiting. Last visit we waited over three hours; one to two hours is the norm. The nurse practitioners there are very rude and seems they really don’t give a damn not listening to patients’ complaints. Now I’ve had good experiences myself with nurse practitioners that I thought gave more caring and listened to my ills than the doctor, but these nurse practitioners here at this office seem incompetent to me; three times they have filled out the prescriptions wrong causing us much hardship getting Kelly’s meds before she ran out.
After the doctor visit we ate dinner at Carrows Restaurant in Yucca Valley. We made quick stops at Vons and WalMart to pick up a few items and got to Rite Aid a little after 8pm to get her prescriptions filled.
We arrived at her house and offloaded all her groceries and sat around and talked until 12:30.
I got home and was on FaceBook checking up on my friends when I fell asleep at my laptop and didn’t wake up until 11:30am.

Saturday 12- nice day that I remember of it.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for a spell.
I updated the Copper Mountain Mesa Website and sent out the Newsletter.
I worked editing the book all day...

***** Stuff I Wrote this Week******

Sing to us oh pretty bird.
Sing to us and lift our spirits.
Sing a song of love and trust,
sing that song for all of us <3 span="">

Sunday 13- temps into the low 80s nights into the low 50s.
I did my stretches.
Linda H. came by in the afternoon to go on a hike with me. We drove to a few canyons and ended up back at my home for a nice walk.
I just finished editing Book two of "Rainbow at the End of Tomorrow: The Water’s Edge" It kinda took a long while.... YAY for me!!! Now I need to have Bonnie read it and make a cover for it, then it goes on Amazon.

Monday 14- temps in the high 70s lows in the low 50s
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran a mile and a half with 1.5lbs around each wrists, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
I went to do my laundry over at Stoney’s and yapped with Roger Smith about the community cleanup next Saturday and the Neighborhood Watch meeting tonight. I told him as I told others in an email that I had too many things going on in my life at this moment right now and won’t be able to get involved in any activities. I not feeling well either and will take it easy for a spell and only do some light exercise and as little contact with other folk’s problems as I can.
I found this big bruise on my right side over the weekend which now turned purple! I think it might have been getting Kelly’s five gallon water bottle out of the back of the Cougar or putting it in, just can’t remember which.

Tuesday 15- another beautiful day!
I did my stretches.
Joel called asking for help with his computer. I checked it out and walked him  through a problem over the phone as best I could. I also told him I am taking a break and needed the time for myself and would fix another problem of his later on.
I noticed a scraping rubbing kinda noise when I drive slow in the Cougar, so I jacked up and spun all four tires one at a time to see if that was the problem. They all seemed to be okay to me. I’ll have to have someone drive the Cougar past me so I can have a better listen.

Wednesday 16- wonderful day. Theses are the kind of days we live out here for!
I did my stretches.
Went to Sherry’s helped her hang her TV with the new hanger thingy she bought last week. We went to Carrows restaurant and had the prime rib special for lunch.
I went to Staters to get supplies I need there that they don’t sell at Vons; Kelly doesn’t like going to Staters so when I’m alone I stock up. I then went to Walmart got car oil changed and headlights refurbished. I saw a few of my CERT colleagues marking off the area for this Saturdays Community Disaster Preparedness Day. I told them I won’t be there at 9am to help them setup but I’ll be there around noon and will stay around to help them tear it down and put stuff away.
I got home and watched a few episodes of season 5 of “Fringe”.

Thursday 17- Nice day!
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran up and down the hill carrying 5lbs in each hand, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.

I cleaned up around the house some.
Jimmy Stonebraker called at 5pm that his daughter Angela had a baby boy at 4:31am this morning; Jimmy is really happy :)
I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells and went for my evening walk with my backpack.
I’m going outside as the Hunter’s Moon rises to see a partial Lunar Eclipse. Venus is really bright in the southwestern skies. I didn’t see much of the eclipse but it was still nice to get outside.
I did my stretches, lifted 20lb dumbbells, and went for a night run.

Saturday 19- seems a little hotter today.
I got up and drank some coffee and headed down to WalMart for the CERT Community Disaster Preparedness Day Event. I got there at around about noon and helped out as best I could and stuck around to help take down the booths and barricades that had been put up earlier. It was all over by 2pm but I didn’t get out of there until around 4pm.
After all the work was done I went to WalMart and as I waked in the front door there was a hair cutting place for $12 that I took advantage of; I look pretty slick now! I bought a whole broiled chicken, some coleslaw, potato salad, and some Twinkies and took them over to Kelly’s house to surprise her with dinner; besides I was mighty hungry. When she opened the door I stuck a Twinkie in her mouth. We watched Merlin for a few hours and then the X-files. Had lots of fun at Kelly’s and there were no Twinkies left!

that-day-will-come-along-poem

You were such a happy spirit,
free to roam the skies,
now but a shell of loneliness
upon fallen leaves you cry...
another day will come along
and fill your heart with cheer
and on that day the world will smile and say
welcome back my dear

The universe may be very big but it's not as big as the potential you hold within.

I used to sit on the beach and watch the boats out at sea. Especially during sunsets my mind would drift away to faraway places wherever a stiff breeze would take my imagination. This kinda made me wonder who and where the people of these boats were sailing off to. Then I bought my own sailboat and wondered if anyone sitting on the beach was thinking the same of me as I sailed by into the setting sun.

We all have movies that we love but can only watch once because they bring back so many hurtful memories from our past; my movie is Forrest Gump.
What is yours?

life is just a musing thought, a whim of minds wandering in the wild...

I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells and went for my evening walk with my backpack.

Then next month I will finish the third book and start on the fourth and hopefully finish it... I will be very busy next month!

Saturday 26- a little cooler.
I did my stretches.
Kelly called thinking she might be having a heart problems. I dropped my rice and bean surprise off over at the community center for potluck and headed over to her house to see what it was all about. It turned out she had left her pain device turned off and she turned it back on and everything was alright. I took her to the store to get a few supplies and to keep an eye on her just incase the device wasn’t the problem. We had dinner at her house while we watched a few episodes of Merlin.
When I got back home I found that my friends at potluck had left me a care package in my mailbox out front of my home; what wonderful friends I have there.

***** Stuff I Wrote this Week******

Every day a million things cluttering up my mind and fill all the vacant spaces with wishes of a love that could be all mine. I look through my window onto a world that seems so vast, colors of  rainbows and the sweet smell that flowers cast. If I shall live yet another day to sit amongst the trees to feed pigeons crumbs of bread and catch a thought of thee.

Oh sweet the innocent warmth of splendor youth, alone to walk a world corrupt, by evil, the greed of morbid hate.
Begone the oaf of lust to wallow away, in a pond of mud so be its fate.
Bring back the joy to those who lost, the hope of love that beauty caused, a life filled with purpose, the promise of a kiss, a romantic memory of youth's ecstasy be our only gift.

I have learned that I may not be able to control the bad and evil others do, but I sure as hell have the ability to plant that seed in them that can be the harbinger of their change!

I have no use for those who harbor hate inside their hearts. They might as well be ghosts who are forever forced to walk the nights of darkness to remind the uninitiated that bigotry by any race towards another hides behind a veil of evil wickedness that resides within the innermost dominion of our soul... waiting... wanting... ready to escape.

It is okay to rid your life of negative people who hold you back on your life’s journey; be done with them! But never confuse negativity with another’s point of view different than your own or your journey will be one fraught with delusions.

Well again I must apologize for the tiny little itzy bitzy journal I am writing. This is the month of the National Novel Writing Month, where we try to write 50,000 words in a month. It started November first and ends on the 30th. There is nothing to win except knowing you wrote 50,000 words... sounds crazy huh!
